We are a Textile Studio with a desire to design print and sell ready to hang pattern repeatable Wallpaper
we want our customers to use the butt method of hanging not the overlap
what is an economical quick and accurate method of trimming the white edges off 3-5 meter lengths of digitally printed wall paper
thankyou imajri

The installer can table trim on the job site.
This is how some expensive hand prints are installed.

Imarji - what type of wallcovering material will you be printing on? If it is fabric backed vinyl wallcovering, such as the dreamscape materials, I strongly suggest you use an overlap and DOUBLE CUT method. This will leave you with butted edges ( not overlapped) as the extra material is cut away. This will give you by far the best appearance on the wall as the cut seams can be nearly invisible. If you do what you are planning, the seams will be much more noticeable.

We want our wallpaper to be sold through Interior Decor Outlets Therefore the wallpaper will be cut to size of the repeat or part of, showing the repeat printed edge to edge, like traditional wallpaper. And in this respect the wallpaper needs to be butt hung edge to edge creating a continuous repeating pattern
I have been looking at the Fotoba Wide Cut 55/61/75 SL series for this purpose and would like to know does anyone have a working knowledge of the cutter

Okay - I understand why you would prefer to have customers install your product using the butt technique. This can be done.
As you have pointed out, this technique is common with what is called "residential wallpapers". The type people would commonly install in their homes. Keep in mind, our commercial strength Dreamscape product is NOT PAPER. This doesn't mean it will be a problem - in fact you will be providing a superior product over cheaper paper products.
I might suggest based on your specific application, that you look at our new DreamScape LIGHT product. It is basically a thinner version of the traditional dreamscape vinyl. Prints the same, installs the same. While being thinner, it is also a bit stiffer - and it will actually behave a bit more like common "wallpapers" that people are familiar hanging in their homes. Also because it is thinner, and you want to pre-trim the edges, I feel that it may actually install better.
Ofcourse one last benefit is that it is approximately 25% less expensive than our traditional product. DreamsCape Light is very new, not yet showing up in our online store, but if you are interested please reply. Sample rolls should be available for purchase later this week in our store and I will give you the direct link.

Dreamscape Light is officially listed in our store now. This link will take you within the store in case you are interested.
The rolls are available in 54" width, in lengths of either 75 or 150 feet. This product as I said is lighter than our traditional product, it is in fact 10oz per linear yard. The product is 25% less expensive so it is a great economy wallcovering option. I also believe it may perform better for your specific application since you want to pre-trim.

Hi ... just a comment from the technical side of the discussion:
The cutters you refer to usually require a printed track or register line that they follow, so the trim will always be perfect with respect to the pattern. This is a good thing, but since some printers may drift a little over a long run of media, the cut edge may be slightly wavy unless the printer is webbed up perfectly. You will not be able to butt seam a pre-cut edge that is wavy. So while this system willl probably do the job, perfection in the edge can depend on the both the accuracy of the cutter as well as media feed tracking on the printer. My suggestion is to test media printed on your printer under your normal conditions and examine the resulting butt seams.
